Metal!!!

Afternoon my lovelies, I hope all of you are well.
This week we decided to go for a challenge, we went with METAL.

This kind:
Not this kind:

It was indeed a bit of a challenge, and in fact the closest I have ever come to throwing up during a Cooking Session (and it had nothing to do with the alcohol).

The Theme

Metal

The Menu

Main

Lamb Hearts Pre-cooking. Mmmmm delicious.

Spicy Swede Mash for Hot Swedish Metal
Chef's Rating: 4.5 out of 10 Love In Disguises'
So... the mash was alright, it took a while to get it just right, so many different spices were added. We have no idea if that's actually what the polenta loaf was supposed to look like but it actually tasted pretty good, probably from all that cheese and butter I fried it in. The hearts, umm, well they actually didn't taste too bad, and if you could forget for a moment that you were eating a poor little lamb's heart you were golden, but that second when you remember is when the dry retching kicks in. Alas, I was not metal enough.
Fun Fact: Lamb Heart Dishes are also known as a Love in Disguise.

Drinks

Pumpkin Pie

All you have to do is layer Kahlua, Baileys, and Tequila (or something else you want to burn), then light the top layer on fire, sprinkle cinnamon on it and down it goes.
Attempts

Chef's Rating: 6 out 9 Pumpkins
These little suckers were quite tricky to light and I did end up burning my nose a little when trying to shot it (I'm not very coordinated when it comes to shots) but the cinnamon looked awesome when it was being burnt and flaming drinks are rad. Lost points for not actually tasting like pumpkin pie and getting my hopes up.

Brain Hemorrhage

Layer Peach Schnapps and Baileys then drop Grenadine in it

Chef's Rating: 8 out of 9 Brains
These were surprisingly easy to make, tasted good and look sweet as. This is my new favourite shot. I plan to annoy many people trying to order this.

I wish you all pleasant weekend dreams. Peace.

Back to School

I'm not sure why this week's theme was back to school, except for just... why not? We took it as a chance to reminisce about what school really meant - meat pies and nachos is the answer.

Peanut Butter and Celery Sticks

Chef's Rating: 8 out of 9 Peanuts
You can't go wrong with Peanut Butter and Celery Sticks, a classic

Main

They do get messy. I'm not sure why anyone thought this was a good idea for children's school lunches. I'm not American though, so maybe I'm missing something.
Chef's Rating: 7 out of 10 Messy Children

The sausage rolls were a little bit burnt, but you can always cover that up with sauce and the sloppy joes were sloppy, as the name suggest, so I guess we can consider that a success. I now have a metric fuck-tonne of sausage rolls, so be prepared if you use this recipe.

The Drinks

A Rum Alexander
This is pretty much just ice-cream, rum, and white creme de cacao. Obviously the Rum we chose was suitable for children.
Chef's Rating: 6 out of 10 Ron Jeremys
I found it really strong but everyone else seemed to really like it, so I would urge you to give it a try.

The Casualties

This is what happens when you try to grill bread on top of the toaster. I suggest you find another way. Side effects include unhappy housemates.

And to all of you still in School..... suck it.
Afternoon!

What Time Is it?

Adventure Time!

This has been maybe one of my favourite themes to date, it's a kick-ass show and we got to bring back the costumes.

Bacon Pancakes

Chef's Rating: 9 out of 9 Dancing Jakes
You just can't go wrong when you mix two of the most delicious things on this green earth. Even better when you can wait long enough to make your bacon crispy. Pro Tip: Forget about your bacon, it will be extra crispy then.

Main

Soy People

This is What Soy People is Supposed to Look Like
And this is what we made
Chef's Rating: 5 out of 9 Rainicorns
It's mostly just soy sauce and tofu, but I like tofu so I'm totally ok with that.

Dessert

Apple Pie

Chef's Rating: 6 out of 10 Treetrunks
It tasted fine but we could have done better, nicer pastry and apples that don't resemble baby food. This one is going on the Failure Rerun list for the season Finale.

Drinks

Honey Energy Drink
These are the Honey Energy Drinks that help you party all night with bears
And this is our version. I hate beer, but this was actually drinkable.
Chef's Rating: 7 out of 9 Bears

Lemon Drop

Lemon Drop - our Earl of Lemongrab themed Cocktail: Sugar Syrup, Lemon Juice, Vodka
Chef's Rating: 8 out of 10 Earls
It's sour but sweet where the Earl of Lemongrab is just scary, but I didn't want to make a scary cocktail.

Happy Eating

Healthy KFC

The Menu

Main

We Made Bread!!!!! I'll admit it was still gooey in the middle (so I stress to really follow the recipe and let that yeast do it's thing) but I'm still impressed we made bread. I will be back to conquer you one day bread.
While the gravy, or admittedly the whole thing, doesn't look overly appealing, it was very tasty.
Sauce Close Up!!!
Chef's Rating: 7 out of 10 Kentucky Fried Cats

The Drinks

Mountain Dew and Vodka
(What else could it possibly be?)

Look at us pretending to be fancy.
Chef's Rating: 8 out of 9 Energised Cooks (it looses points for originality)
Remember kids, all Mountain Dew is Engergised and if you have it in a cocktail at night you probably aren't going to sleep very well.

Sleep well comrades.
