Batman!

I've been pretty slack lately, but I've been super excited about this post for a while so I'm just gonna stay up and do it!

I love Batman, he's my favourite superhero, you may have noticed my batman ring in previous posts? So when Chemo Boy suggested we do a Batman theme I was super excited. After the initial excitement came the question: "How do we even do a Batman theme?" We had to get creative. And you're also going to have to get creative to see the links between our food and Batman, but I'm such an awesome person that I provided some helpful pictures.

The Theme

The Menu
This is what we started with. I love seeing what you start with and then seeing the end result. I've probably said this before, but it's one of my favourite things about cooking. It's amazing what you can do.

Entree

Face Soup
There's a batman comic where the Joker Rips off his own face (only to collect it later from police evidence) and then captures all of the Bat team and holds them hostage at a creepy dinner where he leads Batman believe he has made a soup out of all of his friend's faces. Full disclosure, I haven't actually read this comic, but I've read about it and seen some pictures and it looks like it would give you nightmares.
It's Tomato Soup....
Chef's Rating: 7.5 out of 10 Detached Faces
It was a very enjoyable fresh tasting soup, you could barely tell it was made from human flesh

Main

Harvey Dent Steak with Poison Ivy Salad

You can see what we were going for right?

Chef's Rating: 6.5 out of 10 Comic Book Boobs

These were pretty last minute ideas, I think we could have done the steak better. But it had cheese on it, so it redeems itself.

Dessert

Batman Cupcakes
Old School Batman - Because Grey Doesn't make for nice cupcakes

Chef's Rating: 8 out of 10 Batarangs

Chocolate Cupcakes with White Chocolate bits and Lemon and Mint Icing. The icing was definitely interesting, sort of refreshing.

I will leave you with this image of one of the creepiest super villains of all time. Sleep well kiddies.
